Celebrate "Christmas in Comfort"
On November 28th, come and celebrate the spirit of Christmas in the heart of Texas Hill Country. Located just thirty minutes from San Antonio, Christmas in Comfort is one of the area’s most popular annual holiday events. Live music, entertainment, food, a Lighted Night parade, fireworks, more than 125 art and craft vendors, and of course, Santa Claus, draw visitors for holiday shopping and festivities from 10 am to 9 pm.
Well known for its culture, heritage and small-town charm, Comfort has nearly one hundred pre-1910 buildings within walking distance of the town center. Steeped in tradition and history, much of our quaint town has been designated a National Historic District. Enjoy great shopping, antiques, galleries, restaurants, unique bed and breakfasts and boutique hotels. Three wineries call Comfort home and their tasting rooms are hosted by friendly, knowledgeable sommeliers. Centrally located, scenic drives from Comfort lead to Fredericksburg, Boerne and Kerrville. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Flat Rock Ranch offers mountain biking and The Cave Without a Name, a beautiful limestone cavern is located nearby. Visitors come year-round to camp, fish and hunt along the Guadalupe River.
Among rolling hills and the spring-fed Guadalupe River, German-pioneered Comfort offers colorful culture and unmatched hospitality. Immigrants founded Comfort in 1854, forming a communal lifestyle as part of the Freethinker movement. Most of the town’s current three thousand residents are descendants of these German settlers.
We look forward to hosting you at the Hotel Giles and providing you with all the comforts in your “home away from home”.
Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality. ― Washington Irving
