Celebrate the Holidays at Christmas in Comfort
It's the most wonderful time of the year! One of the Texas Hill Country's most popular holiday events is Christmas in Comfort, held here in our historic downtown district on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Each year, Christmas in Comfort is host to a wealth of art and craft vendors, plus a parade, tree lighting, live music, festive food and drinks, and fireworks. What started 30 years ago as a handful of local residents staffing a few booths in the historic district has grown into a magical event that draws visitors from far and wide to ring in the holiday season.
This full day of holiday activities runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Start your day with some amazing shopping along historic High and Seventh streets. That's where you'll find 125 unique art and crafts vendors, not to mention Comfort's own boutique and antique stores. Grab a bite to eat at one of the event's food and drink stands, or pop into one of Comfort's wonderful eateries or wineries. While you shop, enjoy live performances of holiday and popular music. Bands will play throughout the day on two different stages, helping to set the festive tone for a joyful celebration.
Beautiful lights line the streets and adorn the trees from top to bottom, and at 6 p.m., everyone gathers on High Street for the lighting of the grand Christmas tree. Afterward, Comfort's Lighted Night Parade begins at 7 p.m., with more than 150 of the most uniquely decorated floats coming down our quaint town's historic streets. Right after Santa Claus and his team reach the end of the parade, a magical fireworks display will cap off the festivities.
Christmas in Comfort is a small-town holiday experience like no other, and surely can't be missed! Be our guest at Hotel Giles and join us for Christmas in Comfort on Nov. 27, as the historic district comes alive with the holiday spirit.
