A Christmas Wine Affair
The festive holiday season is the perfect time to taste your way through the Texas Hill Country's award-winning wineries. From December 4 – 20, the "Christmas Wine Affair" offers sips and samplings at 45 participating wineries, where you'll find beautifully crafted wines and unmatched southern hospitality in each tasting room. Capture the magic of the season in reds and whites — or maybe a rosé. In addition to complimentary tastings, Christmas Wine Affair guests receive special discounts on wine purchases. Each stop on the holiday winery tour offers experiences as unique as the wines themselves.
Did you know that Texas ranks fifth in U.S. wine production with the largest density of wineries right here in the Texas Hill Country? Our region's winemakers are focused on the art and science of their craft, creating vibrant yet balanced vintages. So whether you're visiting an estate winery overlooking an expansive vineyard or stopping by a downtown tasting room, you can be sure to experience the flavors and aromas that make Texas Hill Country wines so spectacular.
One stop along the Christmas Wine Affair tour is nearby at Bending Branch Winery, just south of downtown Comfort. Founded in 2009 by Dr. Bob Young and his family, Bending Branch's winemaking combines Old World techniques and modern technology to produce show-stopping wines, including its signature wine, Texas Tannat, a full-bodied, rustic red. The estate winery and tasting room are located on 56 scenic acres, where you'll be greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff to help guide your exploration into Bending Branch's award-winning wines. Tastings are offered on their shaded deck and patio, where you can relax and enjoy gorgeous views of the sprawling hill country landscape. Bending Branch is also known to host food trucks and live music, making it a great place to unwind for an afternoon with exceptional wines, tasty food and toe-tapping tunes.
