Creativity Abounds at Comfort Art Festival
The Comfort Art Festival is a great day of art, shopping, dining and drinking – and a super opportunity to see the charm Comfort has to offer! This year, the festival is set for Saturday, September 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Well-known artists from around the Hill Country will come to Comfort to display and demonstrate their amazing talents.
The Comfort Art Festival began as the Comfort Art Walk in 2009 and has seen a few variations in the name along the way before landing on the Comfort Art Festival in 2015. Area merchants host artists featuring different media throughout Historic Downtown Comfort. The event has grown year after year and now typically has 30-40 artists participating and showcasing their work. Visitors will find a wide range of artwork, including painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels), fiber arts, pottery (clay, ceramic), jewelry, glassworks, drawing/printmaking, and mixed media.
Local shops, restaurants and drinking establishments will be open during the event with a broad variety of offerings. Guests should plan on starting their day at the festival with a stop by the welcome booth, which will have maps of the town to direct visitors to shops and their hosted artists, as well as a program listing the location of the artist and a brief biography of their work.
The annual Comfort Art Festival is hosted by the Comfort Merchant Association, which brings together business owners to plan and hold events designed to welcome visitors to the beautiful town of Comfort. Diva Day, Girls Night Out and the Comfort Art Festival are just a few of the events held each year.
